TELEPHONE & COMPUTERS

We recognise the importance of staying connected with family and are aware of the role that mobile phones now have in children's lives.

For this reason, we do not prohibit telephone use, but we do limit it to specific times of the day. This will allow each child to take full advantage of the activities and social life that the camp offers. Repeated abuse of our phone policy will result in confiscation of the device.

Wi-Fi may be available during certain times, strictly following the rules given by the Camp Director.

Smart watches are permitted, but if the watch has SIM connectivity and the student is using it other than to tell the time throughout the day, it could be confiscated. We want to limit technological distractions throughout the camp, which is why tablets and laptops are not permitted.

HEALTH & INSURANCE

Parents are requested to provide the school with a health questionnaire for their child; the form is sent to parents prior to the start of camp and must be signed by a doctor. A questionnaire without a doctor’s signature is considered incomplete and therefore Le Rosey Camps declines all responsibility ensuing from missing information.

Please make sure that any important medical information we need to be aware of, such as allergies, medication or any recent medical intervention is clearly indicated. We must be informed of any specific dietary requirements before the beginning of the camp. We also need to be informed if your child suffers from other allergies (horses, cats, dust, insect bites, etc.).

All medication must be labelled with the child’s name, the exact dosage and handed over to the nurse. Children must not self-medicate. For the safety of all, children are not allowed to keep medicines on them.

Fees paid include travel insurance and assistance solution providing cover in the event of a medical emergency resulting from illness or accident. If the child’s health/accident insurance in his/her country of residence does not cover the costs abroad or if the child does not have health/accident insurance, our insurance is activated to cover the costs during the camp. In all cases, our company will contact the child’s health insurance, if it exists.

PACKING LIST & PERSONAL CLOTHING

It is essential that the items below (including a 40L backpack and a foldable travel bag) are packed in one hard-shell suitcase - more than one suitcase is not allowed. Our staff will help children separate their required belongings for Mountain Week and Sea Week when they arrive.

For Mountain Week, we will go through the packing list with the children, making sure that their 40L backpack is as light as possible. During their first 3 days, the children will do some extreme adventure sport activities and walk across the mountains. The children will have access to a shower, once, but will also have the opportunity to swim in a lake.

At the same time, one of our staff members will be driving a minivan with all belongings (including those for Sea Week). From the 4th day, children will be able to get changed and have a shower as they will be staying in a hotel. At that point, the children will not carry the big backpack anymore.

During Sea Week, all the mountain gear and the hard-shell suitcase will be kept in Rolle. Sea Week belongings will have to be packed in a foldable travel bag.

There is no laundry service during Mountain Week. Clothes can be washed on board the Ipharra during Sea Week.

Please note that any “lost & found” items are kept until August 31st. After this date, any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

It is imperative that the items in the following list are acquired beforehand, and that your child’s suitcase contains all items according to the quantities and specifications that follow:

For examples, click on the attached PDF.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Please note that parents are allowed only on the ground-floor of Chalet Sandra for the check-in process, but not on the residential floors.

You can view the campus access map by clicking on the link. On arrival, please hand in: plane ticket (with a reserved return flight), passport or identity card, any large sums of money and, if need be, any medication which the child is currently taking.

If your child is flying back home by themselves after the end of camp, please make sure that their return ticket has been reserved prior to the start of camp. If your child is travelling alone or with a UM service at the end of the camp, please make sure they hand in their passport at check-in on arrival day.

Dates of Arrival

Children are expected to arrive at our Gstaad Mountain Campus, in Schönried, between 9am and 4pm on Sunday 7th July 2024.

Parents who wish to find accommodation close to our campus when they leave/pick up their children will find plenty of quality hotels in the area. The following hotels based in Geneva, Lausanne, Gstaad and Crans-Montana have offered preferential package options in the past. You can find last year's offers here: Hotel Partners leaflet.

Dates of Departure

Children may leave the camp at any time on Sunday 21 July 2024 from our Lake Geneva Campus in Rolle (access map).

A link to return the arrival and departure information is available on the parent portal. Please make sure you inform us of your travel arrangements by logging onto your account and filling out the information under check-list.

At the airport

A Rosey desk is situated in the Arrivals area at Geneva Airport, right next to the visitor centre.

Children travelling alone are met by our staff, wearing Le Rosey uniform, and driven to camp.

Le Rosey organises transfers to and from Geneva airport only on the official dates of arrival and departure, which is included in the camp fee. Outside these dates, transportation is the parents responsibility.

No transportation is organised from/to Zürich Airport nor train station.

No visa, flight reservation or modification will be made by the school.

If you are travelling with your child, we are unable to offer you transportation. The campus is easily accessible by car or train (2h30 to Schönried).

UM Service

If your child is travelling alone as UM (Unaccompanied Minor), the airline will request the name and contact of the person who will welcome your child at Geneva airport.

Information to be given to the airline:

Escort on arrival/departure in/from Geneva airport:

Any request for UM service must be reserved, confirmed and paid to the airline prior to the start of the camp. Please ask the airline for the confirmation document and receipt of payment for the UM service, which you will be required to upload when filling out the arrival and departure link.

Visa Application

Switzerland is a member of the Schengen Area.

You may check the following link to know if you child needs a visa to enter Switzerland.

If you need a formal invitation letter to obtain a tourist visa to enter Switzerland, please send an email, including a copy of your child’s passport, to: contact@roseycamps.ch. The letter will be sent to you as soon as the payment for the camp has been received in full. Please make sure to request a multiple-entry Schengen Visa. Please note that depending on the country, the process for obtaining a visa, even if facilitated, may take several weeks!

PHOTO GALLERY

Please be advised that photographs and videos taken during the camps may be used on our multimedia platforms, such as brochures, presentation videos social media and our website. If you do not wish to publish any photos in which your child appears, please send an email to flaurent@rosey.ch.

A photo gallery will be available online and will be updated frequently. Given the large number of activities that happen simultaneously and throughout the camp, our team will not be able to capture images of every child enjoying each activity.

You will receive login details once the first photos have been added. You will receive login details once the first photos have been added, after the first full day of camp.
