TELEPHONE & COMPUTERS

We recognise the importance of staying connected with family and are aware of the role that mobile phones now have in children’s lives.

For this reason, we do not prohibit telephone use, but we do limit it to specific times of the day. This will allow each child to take full advantage of the activities and social life that the camp offers. Repeated abuse of our phone policy will result in confiscation of the device.

Wi-Fi may be available during certain times, strictly following the rules given by the Camp Director.

Smart watches are permitted, but if the watch has SIM connectivity and the student is using it other than to tell the time throughout the day, it could be confiscated. We want to limit technological distractions throughout the camp, which is why tablets and laptops are not permitted.

HEALTH & INSURANCE

Parents are requested to provide the school with a health questionnaire for their child; the form is sent to parents prior to the start of camp and must be signed by a doctor. A questionnaire without a doctor’s signature is considered incomplete and therefore Le Rosey Camps declines all responsibility ensuing from missing information.

Please make sure that any important medical information we need to be aware of, such as allergies, medication or any recent medical intervention is clearly indicated. We must be informed of any specific dietary requirements before the beginning of the camp. We also need to be informed if your child suffers from other allergies (horses, cats, dust, insect bites, etc.).

All medication must be labelled with the child’s name, the exact dosage and handed over to the nurse. Children must not self-medicate. For the safety of all, children are not allowed to keep medicines on them.

Fees paid include travel insurance and assistance solution providing cover in the event of a medical emergency resulting from illness or accident. If the child’s health/accident insurance in his/her country of residence does not cover the costs abroad or if the child does not have health/accident insurance, our insurance is activated to cover the costs during the camp. In all cases, our company will contact the child’s health insurance, if it exists.

Should there be any important updates regarding your child’s health (such as a new or change of treatment) after you’ve submitted the questionnaire, please let us know before the start of camp.

We reserve the right to:

  • Supplement the health questionnaire with a request for a medical certificate or any other necessary documentation to ensure your child’s well-being and safety.
  • Withdraw an application before the start of camp or during the camp due to health concerns that prevent full participation in the programme.

PACKING LIST & PERSONAL CLOTHING

It is essential that the items below (including a 40L backpack and a foldable travel bag) are packed in one hard-shell suitcase – more than one suitcase is not allowed. Our staff will help children separate their required belongings for Mountain Week and Sea Week when they arrive.

For Mountain Week, we will go through the packing list with the children, making sure that their 40L backpack is as light as possible. During their first 3 days, the children will do some extreme adventure sport activities and walk across the mountains. The children will have access to a shower, once, but will also have the opportunity to swim in a lake.

At the same time, one of our staff members will be driving a minivan with all belongings (including those for Sea Week). From the 4th day, children will be able to get changed and have a shower as they will be staying in a hotel. At that point, the children will not carry the big backpack anymore.

During Sea Week, all the mountain gear and the hard-shell suitcase will be kept in Rolle. Sea Week belongings will have to be packed in a foldable travel bag.

There is no laundry service during Mountain Week. Clothes can be washed on board during Sea Week.

Please note that any “lost & found” items are kept until August 31st. After this date, any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
