These Codes and Expectations are the foundation of our community life, thank you for having chosen to follow them when you submitted your application.
Please read and discuss them with your children before arriving at camp. All children, parents, and staff are expected to respect these rules.
At Le Classique students are grouped according to age: Juniors (8-12 years old), and Seniors (13-15 years old).
Le Rosey has 2 campuses, located just a short walk from each other:
Placement in each building depends on the number of enrolments received.
Juniors have an earlier bedtime (21h30 vs 22h00 for the Seniors); Juniors and Seniors have different weekend excursions; in the dining room, Juniors and Seniors are assigned to different tables. A Junior student may not share a room with a Senior.
Boys and girls sleep in separate buildings (except for the youngest juniors, see above). Sports and activities are mixed.
Teachers and staff live on the floor with the students. The aim is to create a family atmosphere, to ensure the well-being of each child (including things like waking them up in the morning and making sure they brush their teeth) and to have a permanent presence to maintain order and security. Life in the boarding house is warm and friendly, with the teachers keeping an open-door policy, student rooms may not be locked.
We allocate rooms 24h before camp starts and this information is not provided to parents in advance. Any request to share a room with someone in particular must be communicated in writing at least one week before the camp starts. Children must be the same age and we will need to receive a written confirmation from both families. No room changes will be allowed after that. We try, as much as possible that each room is occupied by 2 different nationalities/cultures to ensure an intercultural exchange can happen.
All our rooms are spacious twins with ensuite bathrooms welcoming 2 children per room (we do not offer triple-room configuration). A mini-safe is provided per student. All bedding and towels are provided.
There is no air conditioning in the rooms. Fans, however, are available in case of a heat wave.
Internationally-inspired meals are served buffet style. Meals are prepared by our own chefs who pay meticulous attention to quality, presentation and flavour to produce healthy, balanced menus. During mealtimes, each student is assigned a table which is also shared with the camp teachers. Attendance at all meals is compulsory.
Any food allergies (gluten-free, lactose-free, peanuts, etc.) should be clearly indicated in the health questionnaire. Meals on the menu containing pork will be indicated. Vegetarian menus are also offered.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide Kosher, Halal or vegan meals.
We know how important birthdays are, and especially so if it’s the first time the children are celebrating it away from home. We’ll organise cakes, balloons and sing happy birthday in the dining room.
Below you will find an example schedule, which may be revised before the start of camp. Please note that individual daily timetables are not provided to parents.
The first full day of camp after the arrival is dedicated to:
Students will start their Afternoon Activities programme on the second full day of camp. From the 5 Afternoon Activities chosen, we will create the timetable, so each activity will be practiced between one and three times per week.

Different recreational programmes are organised over the weekend. Please have a look at the “Timetable” for an idea of the types of activities available.
Children may be invited to spend time off campus on the weekend by their parents or by a guardian approved by the parents. There are two options:
Children may not leave or return to camp outside of these time frames.
If you plan to pick up your child for the weekend, kindly email us a written invitation by midday Friday at the latest to:
The Direction will ask to meet the parent or guardian inviting the child to spend time off campus and will require the person to sign an official weekend release form. This form cannot be sent out to parents or guardian in advance and will only be provided at the time of the check out. Contact details must be provided on the form. The legal responsibilities to be assumed by the parent or guardian are also clearly stated on the form.
All weekends must be preceded by a check-out (reporting to the Direction) and finish with a check-in upon the return of the children. Parents or guardians are expected to accompany their children to complete the check-in process.
All people collecting children must have identification with them. If the person collecting the child is not a parent, the parents need to send permission and a copy of the person’s ID, via email, to the Head of Boarding before the child’s departure.
Parents or visitors are not allowed outside official days of arrival and departure. Weekday visits to campus are not allowed.
For students residing on the Rosey campus, check-ins and check-outs for weekend departures will take place with the boarding staff at the Paul & Henri Carnal Hall. For students residing on the La Combe campus, these procedures will be conducted with the boarding staff at the Vieille Combe.
Please remember that only students and staff are allowed in the boarding houses. All other persons are asked to announce themselves at Reception, located in the Château.
The recommended pocket money amount (CHF 400.-) was charged along with the camp fees. This sum is sufficient to cover your child’s stay at the camp and we ask you not to leave additional money upon arrival.
Children will be able to withdraw small sums of pocket money, 2 or 3 times per week, from the person in charge. It is important that they handle their pocket money with care and avoid misplacing it or leaving it behind! Safes are provided in every room and children must keep their pockey money there outside of break times. This pocket money will be primarily used at Café Ljubo, where they will be able to buy some snacks or during weekend activities outside of the campus. There is no credit card payment system.
Pockey money, once distributed, is the child’s responsibility, and Rosey Camps takes no responsibility for missing money.
Any amount still outstanding from the camp fees on the child’s account may be settled from the child’s pocket money.
If your child is traveling as UM (Unaccompanied Minor), the UM service must be paid to the airline prior to arrival to the camp.
The sum of CHF 150.- from the pocket money will be held until the last day for additional expenses before travelling home. Any remaining balance of pocket money is given to the child upon departure.
While we recognise the importance of maintaining communication between parents and students, we would like to limit the use of phones as much as possible to:

Children’s free time will vary according to the activities they follow. Access to their phones is allowed from wake up until dinner time, but the following conditions must be observed:
Collection of children’s phones
The Chef de maison or the children’s referent teacher will collect their phones before dinner or as soon as the children return to their house after their evening activity. In any case, the time slots for phone use remain the same.
Smart Watches
Anything that can connect to the internet is treated as a phone.
Tablets
Children should only have tablets if it is their only means of communicating with their parents. In these cases, they are treated the same as phones. Otherwise, they should be sent home with parents on arrival day, or labelled and kept by the Chef de maison until the end of camp.
Video Games
Video games are not allowed. If we find that some have made it to camp, they will be labelled and kept by the Chef de maison until departure.
Reception
Phone calls made through the reception (+41 21 822 55 00) are transferred to the children during mealtimes, except at dinner time on Saturday and lunch time on Sunday when the reception is closed, or when meals are taken outside the dining room. Handling emergencies outside reception hours
In case of an emergency outside reception hours, your call will be answered, and you will be asked to leave a message which be immediately forwarded to us in writing for treatment.
Please note that e-mail is the most efficient form of communication, as teachers are with the children most of the time. For non-urgent matters, emails will be answered within 24 hours. Please refer to the “Who’s Who” section to help you best direct your enquiry.
We ask our staff not to exchange their personal phone numbers with parents – all communication should be through email, or through the reception phone.
Prior to arriving on campus
Parents are requested to provide a health questionnaire for their child; the form may be downloaded in the Parent Portal.
The health questionnaire must be signed by a doctor and returned via the Parent Portal before the start of camp. A questionnaire without a doctor’s signature is considered incomplete and therefore Le Rosey Camps declines all responsibility ensuing from missing information.
Please make sure that any important medical information we need to be aware of, such as allergies (horses, cats, dust, insect bites, etc.), medication or any recent medical intervention is clearly indicated on the health questionnaire. We must be informed of any specific food allergies before the beginning of the camp.
Should there be any important updates regarding your child’s health (such as a new, or change of treatment) after you’ve submitted the questionnaire, please let us know before the start of camp.

While on campus
Healthcare professionals live on campus and are available 24/7. They are qualified to give first aid and deal with minor ailments. They are in regular contact with local doctors, will set up medical appointments and will ensure that the children take their medication. In case of emergency and if parents cannot be contacted rapidly, Le Rosey Camps will take any necessary decisions, in consultation with the attending doctor.
Medication
All medication must be labelled with the child’s name and the exact dosage and handed over to the nurse. Children must not self-medicate. For the safety of all, children are not allowed to keep medicines in their rooms.
Insurance
Fees paid include travel insurance and assistance solution providing cover in the event of a medical emergency resulting from illness or accident. If the child’s health/accident insurance in his/her country of residence does not cover the costs abroad or if the child does not have health/accident insurance, our insurance is activated to cover the costs in Switzerland during the camp. In all cases, our company will contact the child’s health insurance, if it exists.

Le Rosey Camps offer a laundry service, included in the price of the camp.
All clothes will be marked upon arrival by our staff.
Dirty laundry is collected from the rooms, washed, pressed and returned to the rooms twice per week. Therefore, if you plan to bring enough clothes for one week you will have enough to wear. A laundry bag is provided in each room.
Clothing worn on campus should be casual, non-revealing and appropriate for the activity: classes, sports, visits. Please note that clothes with highly visible luxury branding are not allowed.
There is no uniform during the camp.
Beards, moustaches and body piercings are not allowed.
A dry cleaning service is not provided during the camps.
The name of the student must be marked on personal effects such as tennis rackets, mobile phones, cameras etc. We want to limit technological distractions throughout the camp, which is why tablets, laptops, smartwatches, camera-enabled glasses, or video games are not permitted.
It is strongly recommended that children do not bring anything too large, too fragile, or too valuable.
Before the end of the camp, students will have the opportunity to examine misplaced items that have been found. If your child forgets any belongings at camp, you are kindly asked to organise the shipment through a courier service such as DHL or FedEx, with pick-up service at the school reception paid in advance. For insurance reasons, we are unable to organise the shipment.
“Lost and found” items are kept until September 1st. If unclaimed after this date, we will donate these items to charity.

A link for the arrival and departure information is available on the Parent Portal. Please make sure you inform us of your travel arrangements by logging onto your account and filling out the information under check-list. This link will close 2 weeks before the start of camp, therefore make sure to submit the travel arrangements as soon as possible. For security reasons and internal organisation, we cannot accept departure changes within 7 days of the departure date.
Parents and children will be welcomed in the Paul & Henri Carnal Hall between 9am and 4pm for the registration process which includes meeting the Head of Boarding, Head of Academics, Head of Afternoon Activities, the Nurses. We will also take a photo of each child and give them a camp T-shirt. Please kindly take into consideration that the whole admission process takes approximately one hour.
At the end of the registration process one of our teachers will accompany them to their room. Please note that parents are not allowed in the residential buildings.
On arrival, please hand in: passport/ID (parents who will be staying in the area may instead leave a copy of the passport/ID), if needed a plane ticket with a confirmed return flight, any money and bank cards, and if need be, any medication which your child is currently taking.
Kindly note that parents are responsible for the validity of their children’s passport and visa. If a Schengen visa is required, make sure it is valid for the entire duration of the camp. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of camp.
If your child is flying back home alone after the end of camp, please make sure that their return ticket and/or UM service, have been reserved prior to the start of camp.

Children are expected to arrive at our campus in Rolle between 9am and 4pm on the following dates:
Parents who wish to find accommodation close to our campus when they leave/pick up their children will find the best quality hotels in Geneva and Lausanne, as Rolle is a small town with no 5* hotels.
In Geneva we recommend: the Beau Rivage, La Réserve, The Woodward, Les Bergues.
In our experience, most students will leave campus between breakfast and lunch, on the departure day. No specific classes or activities will take place on that day.
You may pick-up your children between 8am and 1pm on the following dates:
You can also check out your children the evening before, as from 9:30pm (and not earlier than 9:30pm), on Thursday 23 July for Le Classique July or Friday 14 August for Le Classique August.
The check-out procedure will be done individually in the respective buildings. Please go directly to the entrance of your child’s building, where their Chef de maison will be waiting for you.

The evening before the official departure date is dedicated to a celebration of the time spent together at camp. Parents are warmly invited to attend these festivities with us.

Children travelling alone are met by our staff, wearing Le Rosey Camps uniform, and driven to camp. Our team will also accompany them back to the airport on departure day.

Outside these dates and time frame, transportation is the responsibility of the parents. For all personal travel arrangements, we usually recommend you contact Limousine Geneve or Taxi Geneva
No transportation is organised from/to Zürich Airport nor train stations.
No visa, flight reservation or modification can be made by the camp on behalf of the student.
If you are travelling with your child, we are unable to offer you transportation. The campus is easily accessible by car or train (30 minutes to Rolle).
The Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service is special assistance provided by airlines for children traveling alone. Airline staff take care of your child from check-in and hand them safely to the right person on arrival.
The UM service must be booked, confirmed, and paid for with the airline before the camp starts. Please ask the airline for a confirmation document and receipt, as you will need to upload these when completing the arrival and departure form.
If your child is travelling as a UM, the airline will ask for the name and contact details of the person in charge of your child at Geneva Airport. Please provide the following information:

Switzerland is a member of the Schengen Area. You may check the following link to know if you child needs a visa to enter Switzerland.
If you need a formal invitation letter to obtain a tourist visa to enter Switzerland, please send an email, including a copy of your child’s passport, to: contact@roseycamps.ch. The letter will be sent to you as soon as the payment for the camp has been received in full. Please make sure to request a multiple-entry Schengen visa. Please note that depending on the country, the process for obtaining a visa, even if facilitated, may take several weeks!
Please be advised that photographs and videos taken during the camps may be used on our multimedia platforms, such as brochures, presentation videos, social media and our website. If you do not wish for us to publish any photos in which your child appears, please send an email to flaurent@rosey.ch.
A photo gallery will be available online and will be updated frequently. Given the large number of activities that happen simultaneously and throughout the camp, our team will not be able to capture images of every child enjoying each activity.
You will receive login details once the first photos have been added, after the first full day of camp.
